Diary of an Edinburgher

Top of the class

The winter firewood (or part of it) arrived this morning, along with ten bags of coal. Fortunately, the coal was in 10kg weights, so I could manage to carry them into the house without too much puffing and blowing. I once accidentally ordered them in 25kg bags, and nearly killed myself moving them.

JR, after the gym, did her executive housekeeping stint, then went to Morningside three times during the day on various errands.

Archie and I went up the hill in the afternoon. I had the ball throwing thingie, which he goes bonkers over. He had a few good hurtles down the hill after the ball before he gave up and refused to participate any more.

But the Main News is that he was sorely tested today, and passed with flying colours. Well, almost flying colours, if you don’t count under his breath muttering...

He met a neighbour, and he has barked enthusiastically at her since he was a puppy - it's quite embarrassing. But not this morning. Silence. He and I sat outside while the workmen were coming and going and generally banging about and talking loudly next door. This would normally cause barking, but not today (just quiet mutterings). We also met the poor postman at the gate. One wee 'WOOF!' slipped out before I could show him the PC (Pet Corrector). The postman was suitably impressed. All good.
