Late

The rain had just started as we pushed back from the gate two hours behind schedule. You can make out the shape of the wing on the tarmac in this shot. It is the dry section surrounding by quickly falling raindrops. The poor worker didn't have any shelter from the rain and by the time we had backed up he was soaked. Shouldn't have happened as we were supposed to be two thirds of the way to Los Angeles by this time, but the incoming flight had been delayed. The delay meant we missed our connection to Seattle, but by the time we had landed Alaska had rebooked us on a later flight and sent us a $75 credit toward future travel as an apology (even though I think the delay had something to do with LAX, not necessarily Alaska). The delay and late booking meant we arrived in Seattle at 2:30 am rather than 10:30 pm, but at least we arrived. Got to bed a little before 5:00 am our time after being up almost 24 hours straight.
