Lunch Date

Mum arrived yesterday and is staying with us for a week, so as I was due to be in work at 2pm, she came into Hove with me and we went for lunch at La Forchette. It's a true French restaurant, run by French people not like some of the chains that claim to be French but aren't. They have a Menu Du Jour which is £8.95 for one course, £12.95 for two and £14.95 for three, and the food is fantastic! Unfortunately I couldn't join mum with a glass of wine, seeing as I've been sat on reception all afternoon/evening, but it was lovely.

I'm feeling very tired and achy at the moment, I think my swim on Saturday has taken it out of me, so I had a lazy morning before heading out with mum. That's when things started to go wrong!

When I went to get in the car, there was the biggest spider ever, in a huge, thick web attached between the hedgerow and the car. I used the car key to break the web and the spider scurried up to the wing mirror so I tried flicking it off and my hand got caught in the web. My immediate reaction was to shake my hand to get rid of the web and the key went flying into the hedgerow! I didn't see where it went, I just heard it land, but couldn't find it. So I grabbed the other key and we went, but I was worried with being next to the fields that someone might find it. I messaged Alan to explain what had happened, and he phoned me and said he'd come home from work to look for it in the daylight, and would work from home this afternoon. After a bit of searching, he found it, thank goodness!

After the car scenario, we parked up to get the bus into town, I'd bought a 60 minute saver ticket on my phone App, as I have to get two buses, so it's much cheaper than buying two singles on the bus. The idea is to wait until the bus arrives and then activate the ticket and the 60 minutes starts counting down, so as long as I'm on the second bus within the 60 minutes I'm fine.

I saw our bus coming, so activated the ticket, but he didn't stop, just drove past us with an 'Out of Service' sign. The next bus was another 10 minutes away, and now my ticket was starting to count down so we rushed down to the coast road and luckily caught a different bus.

At least my day got better, and now it's time to head home! Hope you've had good one :-)
