Diary of an Edinburgher

Porty!

Knowing it was going to be a fine day, we went to the gym early(ish) and set off for breakfast at the beach in bright sunshine. We haven't been there for ages, and Archie could barely contain himself. He always goes and has a drink in the sea, to see if it's changed. No. Then we had a bacon bap (well, I did) and coffee (best flat white not in town) and Archie had a liver muffin, which he goes bonkers for.

We then walked along and popped in to see my wee pal Betty and Joe the old greyhound. Haven't seen them since before my knees, ie more than a year ago.

A small barking dog answered the door, then Betty. Poor old Joe died a while ago (he was quite old) but Betty's son got her the sweetest wee rescue dog, Maisie, who is a sort of Border Terrier, and she is the friendliest wee thing - straight up on people's laps, demanding cuddles. They're just right for each other. Mustn't leave it too long before our next visit - to Betty and to the beach.

Uncle A came round to watch the safari video, and I realised that nobody else will be quite so excited by it as we are. You really had to be there...

In other news, the packet that arrived last night, the Pet Corrector, which emits a hissing sound that dogs hate, has been used to good effect today. It certainly has stopped him barking, and hopefully I'll just have to show it to him soon, then hopefully just the command - QUIET! The real test will be the postman. And the neighbour coming out of her door if he's on the back lawn. But so far so good.

What a grand day. It felt quite summer-ish. Here's Archie jumping for joy. I wanted them both to do it, but JR refused. In the extra, we're both unable to climb over the wall, but we're watching JR buying us me a big ice cream. Perfect.
