Autumn is coming

A beautiful, clear sunny day

Looking out from my study window is this tree (in our neighbours garden but right next to our fence). Every year we see it marking the change from Summer to Autumn but it looks particuarly brilliant this morning in the sunshine.

Later, we are having lunch with a friend, from Colchester, whom we have known since 1990. Although we have kept up on social media it will be good to catch up face to face. He leads an interesting life as a singer on board cruise ships and literally sails all over the world.
