Touch Wood
Alert - not my normal narrative
Three ladies who walked this morning - were stumped to discover that most of Betty's Wood - in St Ives - is going to be felled over the next couple of days - the predominant trees there are larches - the disease Phytophthora ramorum has taken hold
Sad to see them go - have spent nigh on 40yrs walking through them - even blipped them - extra - but needs must
Touch wood - after the replanting matures - it will still be a delightful place to walk - and will be enjoyed by future generations
