Empty Nest

This is Saturday's blip....

When we woke up it was very dark and cloudy and our thermometer said it was 37 F outside.  Luckily the heater in the trailer works well!  As the clouds began to lift we could see snow on all the peaks around us.  This is a shot from the campground toward a small cluster of houses down the road.  The Osprey nest on top of the pole on the left is empty as are all of the others we have seen since we got here.  I have seen a few males flying around but it seems that all of the females and juveniles have left for South America.

We had a pot luck lunch with our camphost friends.  I brought a pound of ground elk (from my SIL's hunting trip) for Susie and she suggested that Rick make his famous spaghetti sauce with it.  I made a salad and garlic bread and we had a yummy meal.  In the afternoon it warmed up enough for a nice walk with Piper.  Then we started the campfire early and Susie and Tammy joined us.  We sat outside until 9:30 drinking wine and telling stories. It was another really nice day. :-))

Many thanks to everyone who visited my journal yesterday and sprinkled stars and hearts!
