Seafield Messplanade clean up
Since I go down to the beach quite a lot I thought it was only reasonable to help out at the Seafield Messplanade clean up.
I didn't count heads, but there were a load of people. (See the Extras). Well known Blippers Meles and DaveH were there. The council provided gloves and pickers and bags and the organisers told us to stay away from WWII bombs and anything marked 'Toxic' and we were then let loose.
Two hours later the steel cage was jammed full, there were over sixty tyres, three or four fridges, a couch, one identifiable mattress, half a dozen rusted bed springs, and a huge number of black bags full of indescribable rubbish.
I'm sure if we'd gathered all the metal bits together we could have build a whole car. There was enough wood for a garden shed, even a front door mat.
I am not going to claim that the beach and the Esplanade are clean, but what a huge effort! Well done guys!!
Oh yes, there was also a bathtub.
