Lugo and the Camino de Santiago

We spent last night - and again tonight in the Galician town of Lugo. Lugo lies just off the famous Camino de Santiago and these signs can be seen at several points in the old walled town, helping to send pilgrims on their way. To most of us it would seem the end point is 99,583 kilometres away but it is in fact 99.583 kilometres - just a different way of writing it.
The town has world heritage status - for its Roman city walls which stretch for over 2 kilometres and were constructed in the 3rd century.
A pleasant little town, lots of little restaurants serving local foods and wines and a thriving night life on Saturday evenings. For us it suffers only from the Spanish habit of not even thinking about eating until at least 9pm by which time we are half way up the walls with hunger!
The extra is of the Cathedral lit up at night.
