Heene cemetery

Heene cemetery in Worthing is a wonderful place to visit, an old cemetery not used since 1977 which to a large degree has been left to it's own devices for several years. It is designated a Sussex site of National Conservation importance, an oasis for wildlife in the centre of town.
I visited today mainly to take pictures for my talk in December, but couldn't help but be inspired by volunteers who are slowly cutting back the tangle of brambles to allow the beautiful undercover of wild flowers to flourish and bloom.
I like this Willow herb shot, the pink adds something wonderful to the autumnal cemetery landscape. I have added another shot of a gravestone wreathed in honeysuckle in my extras.
