Sunny Southport

Fun night at the quiz last night....but not top 3. 
Slept well which is unusual after quizzing, my brain is usually whizzing for a good while once I get in bed!!

We were up and out pretty sharpish this morning, as we had decided to go back to Southport after spotting a picture in a gallery there on Tuesday evening.  We have been on the look out for a new painting for our Dining Room for a good while, but up until now we hadn't found something we both liked. 

The M6 for once was pretty good, so no problems there. We parked near the theatre and went straight to the gallery to view the picture and were very happy with it, job done :-) We left it there to collect later, and off we went for a wonder.....I chose some new slippers, for C*****""s!

We went into one of the old arcades on Lord Street and had lunch, which was delicious, toasted bagel, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for me, ham egg and chips for hub. We collected our painting and took it back to the car, I collected my camera.  We went off and had a lovely long walk up the pier, not to the end though, as its cordoned off for this weekends Air Show, then along the coastal road.

As you can see from todays blip, the weather has been lovely.......at last, gorgeous blue skies and bright sunshine, pleasantly warm.
 This is a shot of the Pier taken from the coastal road.......no train running up and down today and no people strolling......other than this father and his little daughter on the beach, who just wandered into my shot as I pressed the shutter.

Once on our way home, we stopped off at a little tea room, bought one or two nice little treats.......then drove home, by which time, the clouds had rolled in again, and the rain started.
