A Glimpse of the Garden

....... from one of the bedrooms at Montacute House, which we visited this morning after a trip to Yeovil to buy birthday presents for our son, Chris, who is 30 next week. Apart from being a well-preserved late 16th Century mansion, the house is home to an impressive collection of paintings of English monarchs, on loan from the National Portrait Gallery. The school I used to teach at is half a mile up the road.

One year ago we were enjoying a remarkable sunset.
