Awards rewards

I do enjoy a celebration. At the school, we have awards mornings for most of the academic years but also an Awards Evening for the pupils who sat GCSEs and 'A' Levels last summer. I must admit I preferred it when all I had to do was applaud but these days I make a speech at the start and "closing remarks" at the end. 

And while I do *quite* enjoy doing that, it means I have to stay on my toes and consequently the bit that I really look forward to unreservedly, these days, is when we head down into town afterwards for some pizza and a few glasses of red wine. The job's done and I can just relax.
