Tropical Skye
Another mixed up weather day, with sunshine and tropical showers:-). Another failed visit to Coral Bay! We got there early and parked easily, but before we could get out of the car, the heavens opened and we sat for ten minutes while the potholes became mini lakes. When it stopped, we set off but were promptly attacked by midges and then the rain started again and we returned to the car - defeated!
By contrast, J and M had decided to visit the Fairy Pools near Glenbrittle and had a lovely walk in the sunshine with only a few other early risers. The weather is so localised that it is difficult to know what to expect!
We travelled to the Waternish Peninsula, one of my favourite areas in Skye and had lunch in Stein looking out over palm trees to the blue sea and sky. Paradise in Scotland:-). Later, we called in to the Skyeskins workshops and gallery and had coffee in their new yurt and admired the beautiful rugs etc. (See Extra).
Linking up again with J & M in Portree, the plan was for J and I to do an Aquafit class at the pool. However, this had to be cancelled when we discovered the class was fully booked, so we all went out for a delicious pizza instead:-)
More torrential rain on the drive home, but it had stopped again when we arrived! The waterfalls are loving it!
