Water From the Rocks

And we have water! as Markus predicted yesterday...

Well, we will do when we've got a pump and some energy to run it, but I have washed my feet in it, and drunk a bit - it was pretty muddy, but tasted sweet. Momentous day, so have added two extras - the view as I walked to the Land, and the dust as the drilling rig penetrated the rock.

Nerve wracking watching, as the hours went past and the 6-metre sections were added to the drill bit, and only ground up schist shooting out... Then it was lunch time, and we are in Portugal, so went into town and had a proper meal, with wine and dessert - no rush, they kept saying. But got back eventually, and at the first drill, water came out - had obviously accumulated while we were gone. We decided to go down to 96 metres, and will have between 1000 and 2000 litres per hour - so looks like we'll be able to offer you a shower when you visit...
