Looking down

It was my husband's birthday today and we were up early to catch the first bus to Volos again. After a breakfast stop and wander around in the cool of the morning we caught a bus up into the villages in the hills above. This view was taken from Makrinitsa a popular tourist stop as the views are stunning and many traditional Pelion houses and crafts remain here. You can just see the dock area of Volos to the right.

We returned to the heat of Volos 33C and had a late lunch before heading back to Afyssos. On our return my husband was amused and delighted to find a birthday cake complete with a candle , balloon and birthday greetings from our hosts. They had realised it was his birthday from his passport. So nice of them.
