Serendipity

I had signed up to do a LDNP walk today not for training but just because I had nothing else in the diary and with wind and rain forecast I wanted to get more experience in poor weather conditions. The planned route was Grasmere to Allcock Tarn and then up on to the ridge at Nab Scar before descending and returning via the coffin route fro Rydal. The walk leaders decided that the wind on the ridge was too much to risk so we did a lower level circuit of Grasmere and Rydal. 

On arriving at the start in Grasmere I introduced myself to one of the walk leaders Elaine. After a brief conversation it transpired that we are actually close neighbours in the village of Field Broughton but had never previously met. They have bought an old barn just along from ours and are living in Grange whilst they do it up and so are only there at the week-ends.

Stopped in Ambleside on the way home to buy some more Tech Wash for all the GoreTex stuff and hence the blip.
