Clouds over Hill of Tarvit

On a circular walk from Cupar to Hill of Tarvit via Scotstarvit Tower. There were some heavy showers around, but we only got wet once. (That counts as a good day with the weather as it is at the moment.)

The walk got off to a difficult start when we found one track (from Tarvit Mill) completely blocked with head-high brambles, nettles and bracken. Fortunately there was a detour along a lane; too busy with traffic to be enjoyable.

We have walked past Scotstarvit Tower before; this time it was unlocked, allowing us to explore the inside. I thought it was nicely complete, but Historic Scotland points out some eccentricities, such as the lack of a kitchen.
