Chateau de Commarque
Quite near to the confluence of the Vezere and the Dordogne, this chateau was completely overgrown but has been restored over the past 40 years and was re-opened to the public in about 2010. The restoration work is still continuing, but it provides a fascinating insight into life through the ages. The chateau is built over caves where troglodytes lived in pre-history.
