Airbnb

This was our little house in the Dordogne, owned by Sylvie and Michel. Airbnb gets itself a bit of a bad press in certain situations, but this was it at its best. The house had been owned by Sylvie's grandfather, who had been born in the neighbouring property. Both had fallen into disrepair, and when Sylvie and Michel moved to the area from Paris in the 1980's to set up their outdoor restaurant, they also set about restoring the two houses. They now live in Sylvie's grandfather's house, next to the one were staying in. They were charming hosts, always full of ideas of things to do, and in particular of markets to visit.
