Bird magnet

The fig tree below our balcon is increasingly a magnet to the birds. If it is not the fruit itself, it is the insects that are attracted to the fruit. Redstart, Blackcap and Pied Flycatcher are three species we don't see regularly otherwise but have been there the last few days. Of course the camera was nowhere to hand when the bright male Redstart appeared so you will have to make do with this slightly dull Pied Flycatcher.
Ruadh is still not keen on eating but seems happy enough if a bit tired and weak. Fingers crossed. Tricia had to walk to the local small shop today, persuade the owner to stop her gardening and open it to buy ham to tempt the dog with little joy.
