Mum vibing to the Showa Era themed restaurant. Astro Boy was playing on the vintage TVs ornamented about the restaurant. My folks and I ate old style food including frogs and locusts. During the night I yearned to feel how my grandparents felt during the Japanese occupation of Malaysia. To see this relationship first-hand would be an experience only in the vestiges of science fiction love. I wish I understood how my grandparents and ancestors lived and how things culminated into the now. Oh how the past creeps up on us.
