Eagle Creek Fire
At Skamania Lodge in the western edge of the Columbia River Gorge. Meeting with old friends (we all met in Portland, Oregon in the 70's) for a "40 year" reunion.
The Lodge sits north and west of the Eagle Creek Fire burning on the Oregon side of the Gorge. It was started by teenagers tossing fireworks into a canyon. The Fire has consumed about 34,000 acres/13759 hectares and is about 7% contained. I read that 90% of fires are human caused. It is the highest priority Fire in the US, due to its proximity to homes and communities.
