Where are the cars...??
There were lots of course but the dressing up was great to look at too!
Goodwood Revival weekend again and we had booked tickets. It IS an amazing event and this year the weather was in our favour for most of the day. It had rained heavily there on Friday and we had to walk through MUCH mud to get to the entry gates. Wellies come whatever outfit would have been a great idea!!!
I was delighted to meet my little friend from last year (big in my extra) who had reminded me so much of myself at her age. We had a good chat...her baby was sound asleep in the pram and indeed had been since last year so her father told me....
The dressing up is a huge part of this event and we do our bit. This year I was a "suitably mature" 1940's woman. I had some really comfortable sensible shoes to match!!. D does his bit as well, only prefers to keep it quiet!
The car racing was as exciting as ever. Even the Rileys notched up great speed! Jiving and jitter bugging still thrills, the champagne still flows and the atmosphere is great.
A very heavy downpour around 4pm had us heading back across the mud to the Passat car where we picnicked on our laps, not the blanket.. By 5.30 when the skies finally cleared, we decided perhaps not to wade through the mud again so joined the long queue to the exit and had a good journey home while it was still light.
Our fourth visit now. Thoroughly reccommended....!
Posted late again on 10th September
