From Now On...

Today in Stratford....

We began the day with a lovely long walk along the Oxford and Avon canal. So peaceful. Great to stop and talk to people working the locks and enjoying the peace and rush -free, timeless feel of the day too while on their canal holidays.

We bought lunch from the Baguettes Barge and ate it while listening to a lady with an amazing voice singing beautiful songs from various musicals. I then had a chat with Young Will ....

Later we listened to another trio calling themselves The bEverly Brothers. Good quality busking today!

I joined a behind the scenes tour of the theatre which was SO interesting. Much high tech stuff goes on for every production and it left me yet again in awe and wonder at the skills so many people have. And the "menial" tasks of the laundry workers...every costume is washed after every performance, in 12 domestic machines (the bigger industrial ones are too heavy on some of the fabrics), the driers and hot lockers ..for the costumes that need to dry hanging, the special cleaners for the leather armour, the hours of ironing every day....And how to "bleed" effectively which is vital in the Rome season.

We had dinner before heading home, to avoid the rush hour. It seems though that motorways have steady traffic at all hours....Anyway, home safely and ready to sleep....
