Wash Out

Cricket can be a cruel game, even when you're not playing. The game at Adel was washed out today, giving Ben Rhydding 3pts for an abandoned match, but our contenders for promotion managed to play somehow, after a lot of overnight rain and on a very showery afternoon, and got enough time on the pitch to win and collect a maximum 20pts in the process. I'm not sure how they did that! We now lie just behind them in the league going into the last match of the season. It's no longer entirely in our own hands. Feeling gutted for the lads.

There was more water in the beck than I've seen since the beginning of the year. It feels like summer is over, up here in the north at least.
