Supporting Friends

Today was Heritage Open Day where many local places of interest opened their doors to the public.

At bell ringing before the service this morning we were supported by 3 ringers from our neighbouring tower. Even with their help we only managed to ring 6 bells.

We went to Norton Priory which is where this photograph was taken. Then we went up to Grappenhall Heys Walled Garden where the Friends were holding their Autumn Fayre. From there we made our way to St Wilfrid's church in the centre Grappenhall village.

The bell tower was open and people were able to go up onto the roof and see the views from there. The bell ringers at Grappenhall are raising funds to install a new peal of 10 bells in their tower and today was an opportunity to raise the profile of the appeal. Well over 100 people went up the tower today. Most came back down too!

It was good to see all these local events being supported by the community.
