The Tin Coast

Following our weekend of Orienteering we were looking for a recovery walk. We decided on driving to Botallack and the Tin mine made famous in Poldark. Sea mists added to the atmosphere as did the red billed Choughs which swirled overhead.

We then followed the SW coastal footpath to the Levant Mine and Beam Engine. Unfortunately we could not see the engine in use as it was out of action awaiting a spare part. However the views along the coast made the trip worthwhile.

The main photo is The Levant Mine and the extra is the Botallack Mine clinging dramatically to the cliff.
