Paisley's Russell Institute built 1926 in the Art Deco style over three floors  funded by Agnes Russell with her family's textile wealth  to provide a 'clinic' to help treat the poor and sick and disabled children of the town. The NHS used it from 1948 to 2011 now refurbished by the Council to  the gleaming original marble walls, floors and balustrades, brass railings and lights, and enormous floor to ceiling windows bathing the interior with light.
Many Mothers on today's guided tours including Lady Habbie swapped stories of necessary visits with children then full of dread!
The exterior is so stylish too with statuary celebrating its use for children but much too wet and dull to do it justice today, maybe a future blip!
