The Tour of Britain and Me

A more exciting Sunday than usual for His Lordship and me when the boys in the Tour of Britain began their first stage in the Royal Mile and rolled round the Meadows twice in their warm up, before hitting the road to Kelso.

We were there to watch them before taking part in the City Cycle run round a loop of the centre of Edinburgh on traffic free roads.
His Lordship and I made sure we got to the front of the crowd at the start to avoid being felled by little people on little bikes, legs pedalling like windmills intent on emulating Mark Cavendish but uncertain of holding their line.

Now home with the papers, we can see the fun and games in the Meadows where lots of bicycle related activities are still going on.
