Bridge Over Untroubled Water
It seems the Queensferry Crossing Experience today was meant to be. Blue skies (mostly), sun shining, little or no wind and The Forth below us was barely rippling - perfect weather to walk across it. The bridge is closed for 6 days to allow 60,000 people and The Queen to walk across it... ok maybe one might take a cab! After that it'll be open for good...
It was a slick run event, drive to a park and ride car park, new swanky Lothian Buses bus (with a USB port for every seat) take us to the bridge, a quick 1.7 miles jaunt across (ok we took ages), then the bus from the other side takes us back to our car. Throughout the whole event we were constantly reminded by branding that this was a Once in a Lifetime experience for us... aye ok, but you're not going to make me change my blip title mate, despite it being a classic track back then and now!
It was a busy day... I'd been working from the previous day until 7am then woken up by phone calls until I had to get up for the village fete, or 20 minutes of it. Post bridge walk we returned to the only post fete bbq in the village and spent the rest of the evening in the park chomping, chatting and corona-ing... oh I need my bed!
Extra's a plenty attached. The thing is... the bridge is much easier to photograph from many distant vantage points, but close-up... ooh that was challenging!
