Dusk in Las Vegas

Today was the last full day of our wonderful trip. We spent the morning at Buckskin Gulch, the longest and deepest slot canyon in the Southwest of the USA. Our guide, Mike, was very careful to check the weather forecast beforehand as flash floods can be deadly owing to the narrowness of the gulch. However the weather was perfect (apart from being well into the 30s Celsius). In many ways it was similar to Antelope Canyon which we visited and blipped on the 27th so I've not used it for my main blip but the first extra shows a shot taken there. Needless to say we only ventured into a small part of it as it's 15 miles long!

After lunch Mike drove us to Las Vegas - a dramatically different environment in many ways! This provided my main blip, taken as we walked from our hotel to the strip. As we were out until after midnight the Vegas strip may well provide my blip for tomorrow.

The first extra was taken in the Gulch itself: it was minimally photobombed by someone standing in the distance but I've left her on the photo to give a sense of scale.

The second extra shows how dry the soil was on the trail from the carpark to the Gulch itself.
