Scrapes and scratches
15.8C. Bright early then duller. Changeable.
Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. I took some photos as we wandered along to record what we saw today. Lots of small branches and leaves all over the place. Near the beginning of our walk we saw a big tree had been brought down by the wind on Monday night. It was blocking the country road just past the entrance to the field where the bridle path is. As Maeve and I walked up into the field the farmer from Craigmill Farm was coming along to try to start the removal of the tree.
In the field a lot of the bales were gathered together in rows. There is still straw on the ground towards the bottom of the field though. I hope it can dry out and be baled. The sun came out as we walked down the field and the view looking back up from the cycle path was worth a snap. We went across to the level crossing through the little field where the sheep are and the tide was out when we got to the beach. Lots of rocks and branches were lying on the sand, and there is a huge band of seaweed where the sand meets the rocks. The sand was deep to walk on.
At the Fishermen's huts the creel rack is filling up as the gear is being stored again. The people who own 'Shamara' had just arrived and were continuing their cleaning and packing away. There is no sign of 'Valhalla V', I checked by the side of the house and she isn't there. Looks like her trailer is though, sitting in front of the end hut. 'Valhalla VI' is still on her trailer on the beach. Maeve and I had a good close look round her today and noticed that she was formerly called Charlotte Anne. The old lettering can just be seen along the hull on both sides under the new. Down near the keel there is a dramatically worn area and I got today's blip from there. A while since I have had interesting boat colours and textures :-)
Later there was a very heavy shower. I was glad I didn't have any washing out on the whirly !
