RAIN!
All day long! Wow! And it might do the same tomorrow.
I HOPE the kids won't be out until 1 am when it rains, if it still rains. I hope I can get a long night sleep. If I still can. I hope I'm not too used to waiting for the sleep. Anyway there's hope.
On the other side we've had to wash 12 paws and 3 tummies 2 times. Morning walk was dry.
My DIY soundproofing has now been tested for one night.
Curtains - good. Muffle the sound pretty good.
The pink noise + rain got problematic.
The speaker we tried to use, turned out to have some additional noise in itself, so that went bust. (It was way worse than the pink noise.)
Using iPad doesn't work as you can't play two tabs the same time. And YouTube app shots down when the lights go out of the pad.
So had to switch to laptop to use both the sounds at the same time (two tabs in a browser). And to use the laptop speakers. It was okay, but not the handiest solution. I ended up listening to / sleeping to the sounds over 2 hours before I closed the laptop.
Today we took our very good quality speakers from upstairs and took them to the bedroom. But those have to be used with iPad, so I guess it will be rain sounds only without pink noise.
Summa summarum it's a learning process and process to find a good solution. It's good to get the outside sounds go quiet and get some nice background music to mask everything else. Now I need to learn to sleep in rain. Which even with the thunder sounds turned out to be a nice background. You Tube has an over 10 hour loop, if anyone wants to try it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv0LwXYAVVg It's great how helpful people can be at their best!
