Treasure!
*holiday backblips!*
Who knew we’d be up all night listening to a crazy village party til gone 4,30am?! Turns out this weekend is fiesta weekend, and the sleepy village of Navalón has very much woken up! Ridiculous that we’ve come from the party capital of the world looking for some peace & quiet, and found a bigger party here!! There was a VERY loud DJ and sound system!
So our morning was a bit slow and sleepy...we explored the town at the bottom of the mountain a bit & did a last food shop. Then got back up the mountain & realised we’d forgotten to buy the one essential – water! So after a dip in the pool, we headed back down the mountain to the shop! The kids snoozed so we made the most of it & went for a tootle...including finding an amazing castle in a place called Montesa. An amazing and deserted place!
We came home & had a lovely chat with our host, Jesus...he really is a lovely man. Earlier in the day he had brought his treasure chest over & told Asha she could look and choose herself one thing...it was full of shells, crystals, little shiny bits of metal etc... Asha chose a pretty cufflink, and decided to give him something to put back in with his treasures...she painted a little pine cone with my gold nail varnish – it looked lovely! She took a photo of his treasures so she'd not forget!
Drama of the day:
Realising we’d forgotten the one thing we actually needed, water!
Gratefuls:
1) Jesus’ kindness to Asha. She was awed by his collection of shells and treasures
2) Our Maclaren pushchair – grateful for it’s 4x4 suspension – Nate’s been trundled over some rocky places!
3) Beautiful scenery and s p a c e... Especially lovely as we live on such a tiny island!
