Dahlia Day

My husband had to spend this Saturday at work, and needed a ride to the subway, so I got up extra early to drop him off.  What better way to spend the early morning hours than to visit the local dahlia garden.  This garden, maintained by he National Capital Dahlia Society, is a highlight of late summer until frost.  When I got there I could see dew on the petals, which disappeared quickly as the air warmed.  These spectacular flowers are all colors, from jewel tones to pale lavender making it difficult to choose one to post.
