Greetings
Mary's work on this trip will mainly involve meeting Ministry people and the Primary School inspectorate and management, a follow up on the Summer in-service Phase 2 conducted by the amazing team of Irish teachers. She will visit 12 schools and meet staffs and visit classrooms of the teachers who have been part of the training programme over the past three years.
The reception has been amazing, she feels like the President! and the progress of professional development unbelievable.
Thre is a request to extend the scope of the programme from English to include Mathematics and Life Skills.
I went to collect Mary and almost all the infant classes came to greet me.
Thispicture shows just a few of the brave ones who came to the car window.
This school Zola Zola has close to 2500 students working a dual day with two sets of staff for morning and evening. As we came away, there were two classes being taught with blackboards under trees.
The reach of the programme already impacts over 20,000 learners, as they are called.
They are also working on a school community reading programme called Malawi Reads.
Mary is so excited that's she's like an 18 year old!!!!!!
