GCSE Result Day

I was asked to take some photos of the students getting their results for the local college's publicity of today, something I have done for the last few years.

Saw some familiar faces, mostly very happy, although there were the odd tears.

I can see why the newspapers tend to use girls in their exam celebration shots, they show their emotions so much more than the boys.  Every year I come away with stoney-faced males and overjoyed girls in the images.  I always thought the papers were just being sexist, but am thinking that it is just the way it is in order to tell the story in a shot.
