Self Satisfaction

I’m convinced that these will be the most expensive tomatoes of the season. But you can’t measure the cost against the joy of growing your own, or indeed the taste.
Nurturing  your own tomatoes in a hanging basket are something of a novelty for me.  I have grown them successfully in a greenhouse, even outside in a grow-bag. My first attempt of using a hanging basket last year was almost a complete disaster, although I did manage to pick four.
Nothing feared, I decided to have another go this year. To be fair, this basket is showing far greater results than last year, and those tomatoes I have picked so far are delicious, if small.  But I am not sure that my expected harvest here is going to have any sensible comparison to buying the same number of cherry tomatoes in the local market or supermarket.
The achievement however is tremendous and gives me a kick of satisfaction.

The taste of freshly picked fruit also, cannot be beaten.
