Alpine beauty.

Lunch today with a good friend who is a highly skilled alpine flower grower. He wins national prizes and his garden is overflowing with hundreds of plants in four greenhouses, many rockeries and raised beds.

Most alpine plants have finished flowering by now. But here is one that took my eye. It is Gentiana paradoxa. It comes from the Caucuses mountains.
