Nearing the end

Nearly at the end of the sweet pea season here. Last week I grubbed up 150 plants down at the allotment - they had succumbed to virus. I'm left with just 50 plants in the garden that are still flowering but the flowers and stems are shrinking. The good news is that next year's sweet pea seed catalogue has arrived. This year I've gone for a strategy of having only a few varieties (7 Spencers) but lots of plants of each. Next year I'm doing the opposite - I've already chosen 15 Spencer varieties to add to four Old Fashioned types and a couple more annuals.
