Its the Way It Is

The Micro-Light Years

T.his is a snap of a snap (hope that's OK) taken of me coming into land in Spain years ago.     I had done a 30 minute micro-light flight over the sea with a pilot who did not speak one word of english.    The aerodrome was in Estartit on a family holiday.  It was an extremely turbulant 30 minutes and we had reached on at least one occasion the critical speed and angle of attitude to stall (I already had a pilot's licence so knew the situation).  It was also very exciting.     My husband took this snap with my 2 young children standing beside him.  He told me that that was my first and last time to get into one of 'those yokes'.

The extra is of poor Alpha Uniform November which crash landed outside Dublin Airport in 1980.  I was a very young student then and sitting in the Leinster Aero Club waiting for my lesson.  It had an engine failure on take off which is just about the worst thing possible.  The instructor and student Kevin basically walked away with a few scratches.     We were so relieved for them.     (Its a snap of a newspaper cutting from 1980 in my scrapbook so quality not too good)

I have  always loved airplanes and I always will.

This is my first attempt at challenges and this is mono monday - thanks to Nickimags888 for organising
