Prep

Didn't think the damsons were too ripe so I gave them a few hours extra sunshine this morning before stoning began. Seemed to do the trick, I got plenty juice when I made the datschi, but our visitors tomorrow can be the real judges. We're expecting a few folk round and today has been taken up with shopping, ordering bread and beer (the basic essentials) and cooking.
Unfortunately we might all be stuck indoors as the weather forecast is rubbish. At the moment we have thunder and lightning raging all around and the rain is coming down in torrents. We had been watching the telly but the lightning seems to have knocked out our cable service! So instead we've been out the front watching blue, flashing lights as fire engines and police cars were steaming past. That's never good news.
