Rainy Day

This is Wednesday's blip...

This morning was bright and sunny and Piper had been asking to go swimming so we finally gave in.  She had a wonderful time chasing splashes from rocks we threw in the water.  When we got back to camp i put a towel down and she actually laid on it instead of the dirt.  Perfect, the sun would have her dry in no time....  Then the clouds started to move in and it was dark and pouring rain within an hour!  So we and our wet dog had to go inside and wait it out.  It continued off and on all day. She has a really thick coat but she eventually dried.  In the late afternoon we were treated to a rainbow. Actually there's a hint of a double.  But the full arch wasn't visible.  

While I was inside waiting for the rain to stop, I made a solar filter for my camera lens out of an extra pair of eclipse glasses.  It works like a charm.  The extra is a shot of the sun (in one of its brief appearances today) through my makeshift filter.  I'm ready for Monday.  Hopefully it won't be cloudy.  We should see about 92% from our location.
