Laura Secord Trail
This morning I tried to do a 10km with Kristi but nearly died. It's so humid out here and I'm just not used to it and I really faded in the last 2km. Thankfully, Kristi had gone on ahead and I didn't feel too bad for slowing down her marathon training.
After a quick breakfast we headed out to the Niagara Escarpment (I think) to hike the Laura Secord Trail. Laura Secord is famous for being out with her cow back in the day, hearing the American Army and walking back to warn the Brits, who were then prepared for battle. Or something. The fact that she did this made the trail more delightful for a couple of girls with British / Canadian heritage. It was beautiful and we hiked down into a valley, over the blue river and up the other side to an amazing waterfall. Such fun.
A quick lunch back home and then out to see some more sights: Port Dalhousie (like the seaside, only on Lake Ontario), Kristi's school and then to the mall for Beaver Tails.
Flying through this Canadian tick list like a couple of badasses.
Going downtown this evening with Kristi to meet Claudia for my final beer and dinner.
