Mist on the Loch

Today sees the first full day of a weekend away in Pitlochry with the camera club. It was spent on the shores of the beautiful Loch Tummel.

I am so thrilled with this capture; it comes just as I saw it - with very little editing. Three of us splintered away from the main group, for no other reason than the minibus was full and we spilled over into the car.

The main group were behind us at Queens View but we motored on in the knowledge there was a heavy morning mist in that particular spot which was spoiling the normally spectacular view. A few miles further on we found the smallest of pebbled beaches, just enough for the three of us to engross ourselves in the work we'd eagerly come to do.

The beach was incredibly inspiring. We watched incredulously as the mist retreated to show off the hilltops on the other side of the loch and an amazing blue sky which was mirrored as a reflection on the loch. Not only that, the beach itself was full of interesting and inspiring shapes and features like dead tree trunks and timbers protruding from the clear water which was revealing the spread of underwater pebbles.

After a time (much more than an hour), we began to realise we were part of a larger group and that we should probably move on to our next destination and finally Rannoch Station. However, I was so glad we focussed here; it was wonderful and has provided me with a rich set of images.
