Market day

Saturday is market day in Bretenoux.  It was filled with both locals (of which we count ourselves part) and tourists.  But it was bustling and happy and good. We had  our coffee at a pavement table in the Café de la Poste and then went buying: tomatoes grown locally and picked only when they have been fully ripened, girolles mushrooms, the greenest of green beans and a big clump of garlic (see extra).  We have both had dickey tummies (a 24 hour bug we think), but we were back on form tonight for pork fillet and home made sage butter, girolles fried with tarragon and plain boiled green beans. Wine: Cahors Malbec.
