A New Dragonfly in the Garden

Dear Diary,

This is a Common White Tail Skimmer dragonfly, a male.  Only males have the white tail.  I have never seen one in the garden before but I have seen the females.  It was a treat to welcome a new visitor to the garden.  He was most accommodating to my picture taking efforts too.  He stayed still and let me come quite close.

Well, I am planning to go to the matinee at the theater today even though I am not 100%, more like 65% I'd say.  I can't miss my annual Agatha Christie outing!  I am glad I chose a matinee this year instead of the evening performance.  I should be able to make it through.
