Summers at the lake
Dear Diary,
I was thinking about the summers my family rented a little cottage at a lake not far from our home, Lake Boone. It was idyllic for a young child. Most days I was as wrinkled as a prune from spending so much time in the water. I drove up the road to photograph this pond, Burnt Meadow Pond. I have photographed it from the other side before, several times, but not from the little beach.
The kids were having a grand old time jumping from the dock and it was nice to hear their laughter. If you aren't feeling well, children's laughter is always good medicine. It is a lovely small pond and although boating is allowed you rarely see anything but canoes and kayaks. I also wanted to see the new little free library kiosk in the parking area, extra picture. These have become quite popular of late. They are just little boxes where you can pick up a book and drop one off. It is sponsored by the local library. I must bring some books to add.
I thought I was recovering but I seem to be in a holding pattern...no worse but no better. I am determined to see the play tomorrow night so I hope I am able to. Thank you for all your well wishes...keep them coming!
