A Lucky Day

I still cant believe my luck. I was standing by the glass sliding doors with camera in hand just idly watching the little birds in the feeder when a tui flew up onto the deck rail only a couple of paces away. I was inside the glass doors and he didn't spot me lift the camera as he was too intent on sampling kiwifruit. I love the little bit of tongue peeking out.

More luck for me - I had on settings that would do the job..

It was late afternoon and the ISO was horribly high  plus the shots were taken through glass. I was lucky that the pics were usable.

Here is the proof that tuis eat kiwifruit. There is a tui with its head in the fruit  in the extras.
